Seminar Disaster Management

Seminar on Disaster Management Program was held on 28th April 2015. This program was to create awareness among the students how to prevent and be safe during natural calamities like fire, earthquake, flood, etc. Biswajit Das conducted a disaster management Lecture cum demonstration class for students of Don Bosco Maligaon and also the youths of the locality at Don Bosco Technical School, Maligaon. Mr. Biswajit is working in an NGO called Prerona in Bongaigaon, Guwahati. He along with his team gave a demo class for our neighboring youth and the trainees of the Institution. The session began at 10 am in the morning with two hours of input session. He explained to them the basics of different kinds of disaster and demonstrated ways to prevent much harm. The team also stressed on the fact that it is more important to remain calm and not panic during natural disasters like earthquake, flood, fire, lightning, etc. and also that, we need to be safe ourselves before helping others. He demonstrated ways to prevent and be safe during any calamity and also to give some first aid in case of any accidents or mishaps. The students were also given chance to demonstrate what they learned. It was a very interactive session and was important owing to the common natural calamities happening in various parts of the state.
